Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all websites and services operated under the nedimp.com domain and its subdomains (collectively, "the Services"), including but not limited to the personal portfolio and any web applications hosted therein. By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information unless you voluntarily provide it (for example, by sending an email to the contact address listed on this site).

Browser storage. The site stores display preference keys (alpine-time and optional alpine-coords) in your browser's localStorage to remember your chosen time-of-day display theme and calculate local sunrise/sunset daylight cycles. If you choose “Use my location,” your coordinates are saved locally for those calculations; this solar display does not send them to our server. Trail weather uses the published trail coordinates, not your device location.

Server logs. Like most web servers, our hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically collect standard log data such as your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used solely for security and performance purposes and is governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.

3. Third-Party Services

The Services may load resources from the following third parties, each subject to their own privacy policies:

• GitHub — project source repositories are hosted on GitHub. Visiting external GitHub links is subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
• Vercel — infrastructure and hosting provider. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Open-Meteo — trail forecasts and, when a track has no elevations, elevation estimates. Your browser requests these directly using published trail coordinates. Open-Meteo receives your IP address and standard request information. See Open-Meteo’s terms and privacy information.
• OpenStreetMap — standard map tiles load directly in your browser. Tile requests reveal the map area being viewed, your IP address and standard request information. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
• Esri / ArcGIS — satellite imagery loads directly when that map layer is selected, including when it is the configured default. Requests reveal the map area, your IP address and standard request information. See Esri’s privacy information.
• Google — optional integrations such as Calendar or Drive sync exchange the data needed for the feature you enable (see how the tools use Google sign-in).

4. Cookies

The Services do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. The public portfolio uses the localStorage preferences described in Section 2. The private administration area also uses a sign-in session cookie. Individual tools may store their own settings and offline data. You can clear it at any time via your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data.

5. Data Retention & Security

We retain server log data only as long as required by our hosting provider for security purposes. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect the Services, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights regarding access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
