The road to Prokosko jezero is now paved and fine for any car. The entrance to the park and the road to the parking inside are not the best, but the car can always be left in front. There is an entry fee per person, plus a fee for parking. We left the car inside, at the lake, since we were camping.
The only water on the whole route is the česma (a public tap) at the lake. There is nothing after it, so carry plenty for both days. The markacija (waymarking) is good and the route is marked correctly throughout.
Day one climbs from the lake via Krstac to Nadkrstac, where the night was spent in a tent at 2112 m. There is no water at the camp, but there was phone signal, which is rare on this route. Sunset and sunrise from Nadkrstac are worth the night out.
Day two goes from Nadkrstac over Bijela gromilica, then on by Devetaci, Rosinj, Kota, Locika and Treskavica, and back down to Prokosko jezero.
The day-one stretch is short, which leaves a lot of time. A better split is to leave the gear at Nadkrstac on the first day and climb Bijela gromilica then, so the second day can head straight for Rosinj. The whole loop can also be done in one day: long, but quite doable.
Away from the Nadkrstac camp there is mostly no signal. It catches here and there, but do not rely on it.
